As a Center Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in our mission to support teens and young adults currently experiencing homelessness. This volunteer position involves a combination of administrative tasks and direct engagement with the individuals we serve. You will be at the forefront of coordinating support services and providing a welcoming environment for young people seeking assistance.

 

Our Arts & Media Center has Unhoused Youth Drop-In Hours 8:00 am - 2:00 pm & 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm Tuesday - Saturday. These hours are for those youth only, serving as a safe space to gather and get resources.  

From 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm, the Studio is open for all young people between the ages of 14-24.

Youth between those ages are also welcome to attend any scheduled programming. 

Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support:
    - Answering phones and responding to inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
    - Scheduling appointments for young individuals seeking assistance.
    - Making reminder calls to ensure clients do not miss important appointments or support sessions.
    - Assisting with data entry and maintaining accurate records of client interactions.
  • Engagement with Clients:
    - Providing a warm and welcoming environment for teens and young adults visiting the center.
    - Coordinating support services such as meals, shelter, counseling, and educational resources.
    - Actively listening to the needs of young people and connecting them with appropriate resources.
    - Offering guidance and support in navigating available services and programs.
