We need auction runners to help with our annual quarter auction. Runners will walk auction items from the preview area into the auction room where the bidding will start. They will then deliver item to the winning bidder, and return to the preview area as the next runner brings in the next item.
Event Description:
The Ward Museum’s Silver Bells Quarter Auction takes place on Friday December 6, doors open at 5 pm. This annual fundraiser features over 100 items up for bid. Items include gift cards, admission tickets to performances, sporting events, and museums, home décor, vacation packages, gift baskets, and more. This is the perfect opportunity to have a fun night out with friends and a chance to win some unique and completely gift-able prizes.
If you have never been to a quarter auction, here is how it works. You will receive a numbered auction paddle upon arrival. Each item has a bid price in quarter increments. When an item is presented that you wish to bid on, you place the appropriate number of quarters in the provided bucket and raise your paddle. A number will be drawn, and if it matches your raised paddle, you win. If your number is called and your paddle is not raised, a new number is called until a winner is declared.
Admission is $10 in advance, $15 at the door and includes one paddle. VIP access is $35 and includes one paddle and access to the VIP room with refreshments from local businesses. Additional paddles can be purchased for $5 each. Have your quarters ready or buy some at the door. Proceeds benefit the Ward Foundation’s education and outreach programs.
