Salisbury University's Student United Way Habitat for Humanity Build

We will be partnering with Wor-Wic Student United Way for our Fall Semester Habitat for Humanity Build on Saturday October 7th.

The build will run from 8am-3pm so we are offering two shifts:

• 8am - 11:30am (20 people)
• 11:30am-3pm (20 people)

The location of the build will be released by Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County within two weeks prior to the build, but the build will be in Salisbury.

Transportation will be provided for members needing a ride.

• The first shift of volunteers will meet outside of GUC @ 7:30am
• The second shift of volunteer will meet outside of GUC @ 11am

Megan, SU SUW Volunteer Coordinator, will be handing out the build waivers at the meeting before the build, October 4th. 

Day To Serve

This build will also be our Day to Serve Event. 

"Day to Serve is a unique annual initiative that transcends politics and religious differences. It unites people of all faiths, races, cultures, and backgrounds with the shared goal of helping those in need and improving the communities where we live. It is a movement started in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and D.C. to motivate people to get involved in service events each year." 

Last year, we delivered reading packets to a local elementary school and read with the students to promote early childhood literacy.
