Volunteer Duties:
Sign in and out on the volunteer sheet on the desk so we have a record of you completing the shift you signed up for.
Check the gull card of our patrons and input them into that week’s Involved@SU (This will be up on the computer) or write it down on a sheet of paper if the computer is not working. Ensure patrons abide by our once-a-week policy.
Once you check patrons in, ask them if they would like 1 or 2 bags to browse.
If you are volunteering with an executive board member of the pantry, you may be asked to manage the pantry alone while we complete executive duties across campus. However, let us know if that is something you are not comfortable with.
You may be asked to assist in unpacking/ stocking donations and items that we receive, which may involve lifting, bending, reaching, and carrying boxes/ food items. If you are uncomfortable performing any of those motions, it is not a problem
