Help combat hunger on the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland by volunteering at the Telamon Corporation Food Pantry conveniently located in the American Job Center (across from WorWic Community College).
Telamon's Emergency Food Pantry assists customers in need with a 2-3 day supply of food to help them overcome a hunger shortfall. Customers can be served once every 30 days. All customers must present with a need, proper identification and proof of family size. This volunteer position can assist with completing the 2 page brief application (training provided!). On average, more than 200 individuals are served each month.
Food Pantry hours are Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Volunteers may volunteer in the food pantry preparing bags and stocking shelves from 8:00-4:30 p.m. M-F except holidays.
Hours are flexible from a minimum of 1 hour a week to as many as you would like to volunteer up to 24 hours per week.
Duties to include enrolling customers, making food bags and stocking food pantry.
There is a mandatory 1 hour volunteer session required before any one is able to volunteer. This is scheduled at the convenience of the volunteer and the volunteer coordinator.
