Who We Are

Since 1965, Telamon Corporation has provided supportive assistance to untold numbers of recipients. Farmworkers and their families, children born into poverty, low-income and elderly residents of rural America, youth who struggle with societal challenges, the dislocated and disenfranchised comprise this universe of people in need. To our mission, we add a heart that beats with commitment to those we serve, and a soul that is the collective effort of thousands of employees and volunteers who have given of themselves. Additionally, our fiscal and programattic processes assure that we maintain the financial stewardship entrusted to us at the highest levels of integrity and efficacy.

Our maturity as a nonprofit organization has grown along with the number of programs we operate and our geographic reach. Today, over 100 projects bring help with childcare, employment, housing, education and community development to people in twelve states.

What We Do

Telamon, a private non-profit 501(c)(3), brings human services to people and communities in twelve states, doing business in two of them as Transition Resources Corporation. Chartered as a nonprofit organization, our purpose is to improve the lives of those in need. We do that through the operation of a diverse array of programs for farmworkers, children from low-income families and other groups with special needs.

We provide literacy and early childhood education, childcare, employment and job training, emergency services, temporary or permanent housing opportunities, mortgage assistance and a number of others services designed to create opportunities and provide resources in the communities we serve.

Serving in Maryland since 1977, our community presence on the Lower Eastern Shore continues to grow as we strive to meet our mission statement locally and to work toward better education, better jobs, better communities and better lives.
