A Mobility and Falls Prevention Workshop will be held Thursday, March 14, from 10:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at MAC Inc., Your Area Agency on Aging.
Dr. Dennis Klima from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Physical Therapy Department will present this free workshop for caregivers, family members and others who assist older adults.
Participants will:
- Learn strategies to enhance transfers, ambulation and range of mobility
- Learn key components of age-friendly restorative mobility
- Discuss intrinsic and extrinsic causes of falls
- Get hands-on practice with wheelchairs, walkers and canes
