Party with a Purpose is a community celebration to promote participation in the 2020 Census. The Wicomico County Complete Count Committee (CCC) will provide resources to assist Wicomico County towns and neighborhoods in organizing events to encourage residents to complete their 2020 Census forms.
Why is Census participation so important?
- 2020 Census data will determine how hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funds are distributed.
- The more individuals who are counted in our community, the more dollars are allocated.
- Funding for schools, health programs, social services, transportation, and infrastructure is decided using Census numbers.
- In Maryland, each person not counted equals $18,250 in lost funding over ten years.
