Who We Are
Mission: To conserve the natural, cultural, and recreational resources of the Nanticoke River watershed.
The Nanticoke Watershed Alliance (NWA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving the natural, cultural, and recreational resources of the Nanticoke River watershed, which spans parts of Maryland and Delaware. Established in June 1992, the NWA was formed through a formal agreement between Maryland and Delaware conservation organizations to collaboratively protect and manage the Nanticoke River and its tributaries.
What We Do
By focusing on conservation, education, and research, the Nanticoke Watershed Alliance plays a crucial role in preserving the ecological health and cultural heritage of the Nanticoke River watershed.
Our major programs are our bi-state, award-winning Nanticoke Creekwatchers Citizen Water Monitoring Program, outreach programs and events targeted toward homeowners to improve water quality and improve wildlife habitat, and native tree and plant projects undertaken in partnership with churches and other organizations, municipalities, and private homeowners.
