Hope And Life Outreach (HALO)

HALO is a Christ-centered faith based ministry that provides programs and services for the homeless and hurting men, women and children in our community. Our mission is to See Lives Changed. Our mission statement: Love ‘Em Like Jesus.

HALO officially opened in 2007, but our roots go back to a fledgling church ministry back in 2004. Obviously we’ve grown quite a bit since then. We out grew the one week shelter we were with ORBC and expanded into a 3 month cold weather shelter for women and children. In 2010, we opened up the HALO Cafe. We were still missing something, even after our cold weather shelter grew into a year round emergency shelter. Finally we opened a men’s shelter in 2015 and haven’t looked back since!

HALO provides a number of programs and services designed to give a “hand up” to the homeless, hungry, and hurting. The main ministries we have are listed below:

Our Cafe runs every day of the year, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner free of charge.

Our Emergency Shelters, both then men’s and the women and children’s , run everyday of the year. They allow guests to stay for up to 90 days while they get back on their feet.

The JOH program is an extension of our shelter for those of our guests who make the decision to move forward and break the cycle. This lasts for 6 months to a year.

Our Day Facility is a safe place for guests to stay and take classes, work with case managers, and have a centralized place for the resources they need.

Standing in the Gap is our prayer team that meets on Monday evenings to pray over all our guests, ministries, volunteers, and staff.

Finally, the Thrift Ministry, our Bargain Center, provides affordable goods, clothing, and furniture to the community while also raising funds for HALO.
