The Blood Bank of Delmarva (BBD) is a nonprofit community-based organization dedicated to serving the Delmarva Peninsula by providing safe, high-quality blood products and related services to patients and hospitals. Founded in 1954, BBD has been instrumental in meeting the region’s blood supply needs, supporting over 1.5 million people and 19 hospitals.
What We Do
BBD operates donor centers across Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, ensuring a steady and reliable blood supply for hospitals in the Delmarva region. The organization relies on community support through blood donations, financial contributions, and volunteer efforts to fulfill its mission.
