Needs From: GET CONNECTED Volunteer Center provided by United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore

Village of Hope, a transitional home for women and children, is seeking volunteers to assist with the daily operations of the organization.  From academic tutoring to front desk coverage, VOH has a need for individuals who align with our values of Integrity – Compassion – Respect – Dignity – Diversity.

Below are a few volunteer opportunities with VOH:

*Administrative  Front Desk Coverage:  Filing Documents Create Forms, Track & Record Supplies/Donations & Closet/Cabinet Maintenance;    

*Resource Room Support:   Assist with Updating Wicomico, Worchester and Somerset Program Directory for Families; Assist with Updating Apartment Complex Listing & Applications;   

*Academic Support: Tutoring/ Mentoring, Assist with Updating Listing of Academic & Summer Camp Programs;   

*Landscaping/Facilities Gardening/Plant Care:  Rock Garden Assistance,  Assist with Developing Garden Programs;    

*Event Planning & Fundraising: Participate in Community Outreach Events,  Assist with Planning Quarterly and Annual Fundraising Events.

* Assist case manager with daily tasks, including client evaluations and service coordination; 

* Provide support to clients and their families, helping them to navigate through services, send reminders for meetings with case manager and any scheduled workshops, support service appointments;

*Handle clerical duties such as data entry, maintaining records, and organizing client information; 

*Conduct research on client needs and prepare reports for legal action or service provision; 

*Work closely with other professionals and community agencies to ensure clients receive the necessary care and resources; and

*Any other duties as assigned.

This role is crucial in ensuring that vulnerable populations receive the support they need to improve their quality of life.
