Share your love of nature by tending to our hospice gardens, creating peaceful and beautiful spaces for reflection and healing, and bringing comfort to patients and their loved ones.

Assist in organizing or supporting fundraising events that generate vital resources for hospice care. These efforts directly impact the lives of patients and families facing end-of-life journeys.

Provide pet therapy to patients at our inpatient facility, Coastal Hospice at the Lake, and our residential facility, Macky & Pam Stansell House. To learn more about certification requirements, please reach out to Volunteer Services.

Bereavement volunteers provide emotional support and assistance during the 13-month period following the Hospice patient’s death.

Veteran Volunteers engage with veteran patients by conducting a dignified and meaningful Final Salute ceremony, which includes the presentation of a personalized certificate and a handmade blanket in honor of their faithful military service to our country

Assist staff in greeting customers, creating displays, merchandising, and operating point-of-sale systems for transactions.

Assist with basic office duties, including but not limited to assembling materials for patients, copying, filing, mailing, and making phone calls. Volunteers may also assist with health fairs or community events as needed.

Provide basic comfort and companionship to patients and their families at their homes, assisted living communities, skilled nursing facilities, and our residential facilities, Macky & Pam Stansell House in Ocean Pines and Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. We request a minimum of 10 volunteer hours a month.

Worcester County GOLD is seeking volunteers to help with our Thanksgiving Meal Distribution!

Each meal includes a frozen turkey and a bag of sides — all generously donated by the Worcester County Bar Association — for recipients to prepare their own Thanksgiving dinner.

Volunteer Tasks Include:

Unloading the trailer of food items

Packing bags of sides

Assisting recipients with carrying items to their vehicles

This event requires physical activity and may involve lifting items weighing 20–30 lbs.
