Our City of Salisbury's Kindness Commission, #kindSBY, has the mission to share and spread kindness where a need arises. Our county schools' personnel are facing another challenging year. As Kindness Commissioners we recognize that our educators and school staff will need our support as a community to address the needs of our students. We have developed a plan that will help companies, businesses, and individuals boost and keep morale high throughout the coming year. The project costs are very reasonable. The bonus to our program is the acts of kindness will benefit everyone involved, from the coordinators to the receivers.
#kindSBY is presenting a program for companies, civic groups, offices, and individuals to adopt a Wicomico County Public School and provide small positive rewards for the school's personnel four times throughout the school year. The program can:
- provide positive morale boosts for givers and receivers
- create a culture of kindness within the business and the school
- provide avenues for collaboration and personal growth.
Here's how the program works:
- Go to our needs page
- Select a Wicomico County School you'd like to adopt
- A digital packet outlining 7 activity options will be emailed to you from #kindSBY.
- Beginning in October 2022, each adopter will fulfill one activity for the school. Adopters will deliver three more motivational activities in January, March, and May for a total of 4 projects for the 2022-2023 school year.
- All preparations, finished products, and deliveries must be documented with pictures and posted on social media, by tagging kindSBY, for the company employees, the school staffs and the public to enjoy.
We benefit from kindness in three ways through giving it, receiving it, and witnessing it. This is why #kindSBY is convinced this program will bring some sunshine to all who create the sunshine, receive the sunshine, and read about the sunshine. This program can raise the kindness climate for the businesses, the schools, and our community.
