Caring Communities is offering a day-long training program for teen-agers 13 to 19 interested in learning how to provide respite care for children who have disabilities and/or mental health issues in the child's home.
Topics include, disability awareness, safety, behavior management, the role and responsibility of the care provider, positioning, overview of common disabilities, communication with the family, assistive and adaptive equipment, how to spend time with the child and more.
