Benedictine

Who We Are

Supporting children and adults living with intellectual and developmental disabilities so they can achieve their greatest potential since 1959.

What We Do

Benedictine is a multi-functional year-round education and residential center for more than 200 children and adults living with severe intellectual disabilities, multiple disabilities, and autism. Our nationally accredited education program includes home-like living and learning options for day and residential students, at our campus in Ridgely and our new school campus in Mardela Springs. We offer an individualized program of instruction, fostering development of the whole person and maximizing present and potential strengths through vocational training and therapeutic services. Our Adult Services program offers meaningful day services, community living, independent living support, vocational, social, recreation and leisure activities and skills enhancement for transitional youth and adults. Our Life & Career Services prepare adults to enter the workforce through job development, career exploration and on-the-job training and collaborates with local schools to provide services to their special education students through the Division of Rehabilitation Services
