Who We Are

Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) is a federally funded TRIO program designed to help veterans prepare for, enroll in, and successfully complete postsecondary education. The program offers a range of free services tailored to the academic and career needs of veterans.

What We Do

Key Services Provided: Basic Skills Development: Refresher and remedial courses in subjects such as mathematics, English, science, foreign languages, reading, literature, and computer basics. Assistance with College Admission: Help with completing college applications, preparing for college entrance exams, and applying for financial aid and scholarships. Academic Support: Personalized and group counseling, academic advice, mentoring, tutoring, and assistance with study skills. Career Counseling: Guidance in choosing educational and career paths, plus assistance in accessing veterans’ employment and educational benefits. Support Services Navigation: Help connecting with other veterans’ service organizations, securing VA benefits, and accessing additional local and state resources. Enrichment Opportunities: Access to cultural activities, college tours, support groups, and workshops on topics like financial literacy and transitioning to civilian student life. Ongoing Support: Mentorship, stipends (where applicable), and community-building activities to foster success in college and beyond.
